Explanation of Google tools
Because we are moving online quickly, we've put together some handy links to help.
What is Google or G Suite?
G Suite for Education (formerly known as Google Apps for Education) is an online suite of collaborative tools provided for education by Google. These tools are securely based on the internet (or the 'cloud').
These tools offer many possibilities for supporting your son/daughters' learning at school. When working at home students will be using these tools to complete school work.
We suggest you ask your son/daughter to show you around. Here are some key concepts to help you.
These tools allow students to share files together
This means students will be communicating, sharing and possibly even chatting online with one another and teachers.
A key concept to this is how to share files with others - see this tutorial to understand how this works.
These tools allow students to collaborate
Students and staff will be collaborating on files stored inside the G Suite system.
